For years, I started each morning by hopping on the scale, letting that insignificant, mood-snatching device dictate how I felt for the rest of the day. Not anymore. I’m done letting a number control my happiness. To hell with the scale—take your life back! Instead, rally a group of friends, like I did, and challenge yourselves to give up foods that don’t truly nourish your bodies.
How To Get Going In The Right Direction
Surround yourself with people who ignite your soul and fuel your desire to grow. Having friends on the same journey is not only motivating—it’s also far less expensive than hiring a nutritionist or personal trainer. Of course, if hiring a professional is within your means, their expertise can offer invaluable guidance and support.
Things That I’ve Noticed
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with clients from all walks of life—whether they needed to lose 10 pounds or 100, were battling depression, diabetes, kidney failure, recovering from strokes, facing postpartum depression, menopause, teenage blues, or even addiction. Despite their differences, they all share one thing in common: battling weight.
We’re all striving for the same goal, but our journeys are unique. Each of us needs a plan tailored to our own body and life. So stop comparing yourself to others, and stay off the scale!
Game Plan For Success
Figure out what works best for your body, and be kind to yourself along the way. Remember, getting healthy is a journey—so embrace and enjoy the process!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I am honored!

Wonderful and insightful post. I couldn’t agree more. Self-esteem and happiness can only come from how you feel about yourself internally when no one is around; external sources like the scale, or your neighbor, or the really great lighting in certain room…are just breadcrumbs leading you on an endless journey. thank you for sharing!

I used to weigh myself everyday, but it’s got to the point where I don’t really need to. I control what I eat and I do daily exercise, so it all balances out.

Always weigh, make yourself accountable but treat it as data and try not to obsess 🙂

It really is – but it’s just data. Like so many other things we take in

I couldn’t agree more. I weigh myself about three times a year. That’s plenty of info. Hugs, C

You’re back! Yea!
I have to weigh more than usual due to a health app I’m using us but you’re right. It can affect how I feel, so I don’t do it daily. Wish me luck as I’m trying some of those (cheap) berberine patches.

Hey Kym!!!! I’ll be catching up on your blog tonight!!! 😍 I’m so happy to be back and reconnecting with some of my favorites people.
I needed to know more about those patches. I never heard of them

Im not sure they are gonna work. I take lots of meds and I’m eating a certain way to up my protein. Doing that also seems to up the calories.
Mine were cheap knockoffs I’m sure. During the transaction with them, a hacker got my dang CC and I had to shred mine and wait for another. 😡
For that reason alone, they better work!!

Oh no!! I’m sorry to hear that. There are some scummy people on this earth 😞 I sure hope they work for you.

Me too, thanks. I’m tired of losing and gaining back the same two pounds.

For me it’s the same 10 crusty pounds.

Oh the ominous question!!!… I go in and out and I have this stable set point i like now. If i feel old fear triggers for nothing, I get on just so I can let go if that makes sense. It’s working like a charm xx

I totally get it but you’re pretty fit! You don’t seem like you ever had a problem with weight.

Fitter every minute… you’ve missed a few chapters but yes, I’m pounding the weights and supplements.. bone density improved and I’m soooo stoked.
Thanks, I had a major issue with weight at one point so I know well. xx …. sigh.

Such a thoughtful and relatable reflection. 💜 A number on the scale can never tell the whole story how we feel, our progress, and our overall well-being matter just as much. I really appreciated your perspective and honesty. ✨
